I am a tech lead at Open Innovation AI in Abu Dhabi, building an AI platform on GPU clusters. I am not actively looking, but I am open to the right Lead, Staff or Engineering Manager role in the AI/ML infrastructure space.
Where I fit
- Backend and platform engineering for AI/ML: MLOps, model deployment, inference.
- GPU orchestration and scheduling on Kubernetes, multi-cluster operations.
- Distributed systems that have to hold up under real load.
- Leading engineers. I have built and led teams from 5 to 100+, and I still write code.
What I look for
- A real technical problem in AI infrastructure, not a feature factory.
- Ownership of a system or a team, with a say in where it goes.
- Remote or hybrid, UTC+4. Relocation is possible for the right role.
Co-founder?
If you are starting something and need a technical co-founder, I am open to that conversation too. I like building products from zero and I have done it a few times.
Questions I get asked
Do you do take-home tests? Yes, but I prefer paid ones. My GitHub and projects show how I work; if that is not enough, hire me for a few hours on a real task in your codebase.
Where are you? Abu Dhabi, UTC+4. I travel often between UTC+1 and UTC+6.
Remote? Remote or hybrid works best. On-site or relocation depends on the role.
Favourite stack? Whatever fits the problem. Python or Go for most backend work, Node when the team is there, Erlang when it is about messaging.
Alone or in a team? A team. I like small teams that ship and review their own work.
